Birthday Parties
Here at Tang Soo Do Karate kids can have an exciting and
fun filled time on their birthday!
We provide a group martial arts lesson for all who attend the party.
This is a fun filled karate lesson with the birthday party child being the
Star of the Show. The Birthday Child Instructor gets a free t-shirt, 2 weeks
of free lessons and a set of foam nunchucks. (If they are currently a student
they get the same but get 2 half hour private lessons.) Both our Black Belt and Red Belt birthday parties include a goodie box with candy, small toys and 2 FREE lessons. PLUS we cut the birthday cake with our ninja sword—kids love it.

Fun games and activities will be done at the party such as dodge ball, soft sword fighting, freeze tag, relay races and shuttle runs or whatever the Birthday boy/girl wants to do (within reason). We have many, many games that we play, and we give the Birthday person and guests the choice. We structure the games based on the age of the attendees. Whether the student is 5 or 15 we have the right games for them.
At the end of the instructional time, the birthday star breaks a board! (for a small additional fee, the guests can as well.)
Note:If the attendees are young, such as 4 or so, we ask that you find out ahead of time what types of games they like and can play. Sometimes we run into 4 year olds that don’t know how to play many group games at all. If they don’t know any, then we are prepared and can have some planned.
Structure of the Party
- Beginning of the Party – when the guests begin to arrive, there is usually an obstacle course set up for them to play in or some other type of activity.
- It usually takes the guests approximately 10 to 15 minutes to show up and get ready to start.
- We teach a karate lesson and play “karate” games for 45 minutes.
- The children then sing Happy Birthday and we slice the birthday cake with the ninja sword.
- After the cake, the children watch the Birthday child open his/her presents. An attendant makes a list of presents and who gave them to hand to the parent.
- After the presents, it’s time to go home. While WE CLEAN UP! As parents ourselves we know how relaxing it is tonot have to clean your house BEFORE and AFTER a party!

What you must bring to the party
You supply the children, we supply the rest. We have all the “paper goods.” That’s table clothes, napkins, forks, spoons and decorations. Let us know if you are having a theme party. You have a choice of us supplying juice boxes and/or pizza. If you bring your own drinks, please use boxes. This keeps spills down to a minimum.
Our Black Belt and Red Belt birthday parties include a goodie box with candy, small toys and 2 FREE lessons. When you make your deposit to reserve the date, we’ll ask which toys you would like to add in addition to our standard ones. If you have any you want to use, we are happy to add those as well.
We do require a permission slip for all children attending the party. Typically parents drop children off at the party and we can get it filled out then.
